The Ruth Stocker Barry Cup is a two man best ball event -- which pairs one Peter Stocker Flight player (A Player) with a competitive B player -- is held simultaneous to the individual championship. Both events are played at 54 holes. B players include friends and associates of the late Peter Stocker and players invited by the committee. A relatively new addition to the tournament is the opportunity for A players to nominate a B player to play as their partner. It is requested that these new B players carry a handicap index of 10.0 or lower, while previous players and Preserve Golf Club members are exempted from this requirement but requested to carry a 15.2 index or less.
The $850 entry fee for Peter Stocker (A) flight players includes one practice round (the day before the tournament begins) and three tournament rounds. (Carts and unlimited practice balls provided.) The Ruth Stocker Barry Flight entry fee is $2000, which helps the tournament to cover the cost of holding such a world-class event.
Contestants receive a Straight Down apparel gift certificate (van on site for apparel selection), plus daily breakfast and lunch. Players and their guest/spouse are invited to a Welcome Reception prior to the tournament as well as a Friday tournament dinner.

FORMAT OF COMPETITION
The Stocker Cup Invitational consists of two simultaneous competitions. The Peter Stocker Championship and Ruth Stocker Barry Cup competitions are both played over 54 holes. (please see schedule above.) Ties for the individual Championship are settled 15 minutes after the conclusion of play by “Sudden Death” playoff. Team ties will be settled using USGA tie ending procedures.
RULES & CONDITIONS
Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as currently approved by the USGA. Local rules, detailed tournament conditions and registration requirements within a Tournament Information Packet will be provided via mail prior to October 1st. The Tournament Committee requires that all players wear softspike or spikeless shoes. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to reject or ban an applicant or participant at any time before or after the start of tournament play. Any tournament participant engaging in unbecoming or unsportsmanlike conduct during tournament play or otherwise is subject to rejection or disqualification as well as being permanently barred from consideration for a subsequent Stocker Cup Invitation.
The Northern California Golf Association Tournament Committee will serve as starters, as well as handling rules decisions and scoring. The NCGA "Pace of Play Guidelines", including player timing procedures, will be in effect to assure a reasonable pace of play. This includes the requirement that Net players shall not putt out if their team's position cannot be improved.
A players vie for the Individual Championship and World Amateur Ranking Player Points (via World Amateur Golf Rankings, Scratch Players Rankings, and Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com). The winner's name will be engraved on the perpetual Stocker Cup. The names of the team winners will also appear on the trophy. Prizes will also be awarded to the top finishers in both the individual and team competitions. Tee gifts are provided to all tournament participants.
Contestants should wear proper, tasteful golf attire during tournament play and be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming.
CADDIES & CARTS
Players use automotive transportation, which is included in their entry fee, or they may provide their own caddie.
